"How To Cut Loose, Even When You Feel Awkward About It"
You know, a good friend of mine happens to be an excellent writer. He always seems to be able to come up with loads of quality things to write about, all the time, and his sales letters always just flow so smoothly.
One time I asked him how he always manages to do this, and he gave me some very valuable insight into a lot of other things we all do.
He said, "Chet, the problem most people has when it comes to writing has to do with how they're looking at what they're doing. When I write, I know I'm not putting finished product down on the paper, so I just cut loose and let EVERYTHING come out, because I know I'm going to have to go in afterwards and clean up anyway. And if I let it all hang out, I'm going to have lot better chance of getting all the good stuff out as well.
Most people, when they sit down and write, they feel they've got to put down their FINAL copy, on the first go-round, which... to be honest with you, is damn-near impossible."
I thought about this for a while, and I was able to relate to this, from a dating perspective.
See, most guys think when they send out an e-mail, it's GOT to be perfect, because they're sending out "THE" e-mail that's going to find their soulmate.
Now maybe it will, and maybe it won't. But the point is, I find a lot of men are so very reluctant to just cutting loose and being themselves, and when you're holding back, you've got to realize you're holding back a lot of good stuff that you -- AND the love of your life -- can work with, the same way my friend the writer "edits" his material down later.
Most men are so afraid to just be themselves, and that's a shame because what you don't realize is that there are LOADS of women out there, who DO want you, just the way you are.
